Types of Asphalt Shingles Available?
Categories: FAQ
Asphalt shingles from Peak Roofing & Construction are one of the most popular roofing materials today, but there are different types to choose from. They come in large individual, laminated, interlocking and thick composite.
When you are trying to figure out which asphalt shingles are right for your home, think about both aesthetics and convenience.
- Large individual shingles are either rectangle- or hexagon-shaped. They are generally reserved for specialty roofing situations.
- Laminated shingles (architectural shingles) have varied shapes, sizes, and spacing for a more interesting visual appearance. This roofing can mimic the appearance of wood, slate, or tile.
- Interlocking shingles (three-tab) are the most common and most economical, with tabs that connect for improved ability to withstand wind and weather.
Thick composite shingles (Class 4) combine several roofing materials to offer better quality and durability. They could last as long as 30 to 50 years or more.
